Vlogging - A Trending Content Marketing Strategy

Vlogging - A Trending Content Marketing Strategy

Popularly known as vlog, a video blog is a video content where instead of writing on blog post, one talk on camera about the related content. Over the recent years content makers have pre-dominantly taken a space all over the internet. From photos to written graphics and vlogs, social media is filled with different genres of content creators and believe it or not, vloggers or video bloggers are ruling the space.

Vlog is generally a small 4 minutes video where one shares an entire experience about a product/service etc. with their followers. There is no specific rule laid for the length of a vlog as it can be made up to 30 minutes or more depending upon the subject matter.  Unlike a photo caption or a blog, a video blog is a mix of texts, video, photos, music and more. A vlog is an interactive content creation tool which attracts a broader size of audience.

Vlogs were initially uploaded on YouTube but with the increase in consumption of internet and advent of technology over the years, they are now practically all over every social media platform. From Instagram to Snapchat to Facebook content creators are utilizing these spaces to reach to a wider audience and share their experiences, thoughts and ideas with them.

Types of Vlog :-

1) Follow Me : Majorly used by Travel Vloggers, a follow me around vlog has a vlogger take the camera/phone and flip it to create and show scenes as they see in that very moment. Food bloggers, Chefs, MakeUp Artists and Techies (unboxing videos) also prefer this type of vlogging.

2) Talking Head : When a person talks to camera about a subject or a thought/idea, keeping the camera static either on tripod of anything to support it, such type of vlog is called Talking Head Vlog. Fashion or a Comedy vlog can be put in this category.

With endless content creation ideas through vlogs, Brands and Marketing agencies are now approaching influencers for promotion via more and more video content because of its engaging and interactive nature. Vlogs also help in building trust among your audience since it is easy to believe on a face behind camera rather than a stranger.
